MPA 1403, Shapoorji Pallonji Park West Apartments, Bangalore 560023
The Beginning

Yoga Kirtana began her journey in Carnatic music at the age of four under the guidance of her mother, renowned Vainika Vidushi J. Yoga Vandana. She later continued her formal training with Vidushi P. Ramaa, deepening her grasp of the classical repertoire, raga exploration, and the discipline of systematic practice.

She further honed her artistry under Vidushi Suguna Purushothaman and then under Sangeetha Kalacharya, Vidushi Neela Ramagopal, whose mentorship played a pivotal role in shaping her manodharma and concert presentation.

Performance

An A-grade artist of All India Radio, Bangalore, she has performed over 500 concerts across prestigious platforms in India and abroad, earning recognition for her depth, clarity, and uncompromising classical values.

She has presented thematic concerts on subjects such as Javalis, Swarajathis, the life and compositions of Sri Muthuswamy Dikshitar, and Mysore Sadashiva Rao. She has collaborated on unique Jugalbandi concerts, and has been a featured vocalist on SVBC Channel's celebrated series "Annamayya Paataku Pattabhishekam," bringing out rare compositions of Annamacharya.

Pedagogy & Academy Work

She has worked with the Shankar Mahadevan Academy on their various musical projects as Head of Curriculum for the Carnatic Department, and received the "Sustained Excellence Award" for her contribution to the Academy from Padmasri Dr. Shankar Mahadevan.

She actively teaches and mentors students and has conducted workshops on various themes, combining performance with pedagogy.

The Three Pillars

01
Raga · The Soul
Every raga is a living entity with its own mood, colour, and grammar. A true rendition is a conversation with the raga's innermost nature, coaxed into form through manodharma.
02
Bhava · The Heart
Technical precision without emotional truth is empty architecture. Carnatic music lives in the gamaka, the pause, the swell of a phrase that carries the weight of devotion.
03
Parampara · The Chain
A musician is never self-made — they are the living expression of every guru who taught them. To honour the tradition is not to be bound by it; it is to carry a lamp forward.

Guru Parampara

The sacred chain of guru-shishya transmission that carries both technique and spirit across generations.
